Synopsis

Setting:

Reconciled In Iraq setting is Mosul, Iraq (ancient city of Nineveh).

Purpose:

The purpose is to promote free thinking, truth seeking, and mostly to urge individuals to find their natural path, which leads to bliss. In essence, the individual must break down his/her oppressive walls, get past denial, destroy oppression, accept free will, choose to bifurcate to a life motivated by aesthetics and thereby find true bliss.

Overview:

Reconciled In Iraq
challenges the reader to juxtapose his/her own life, to face reality, to prepare and take on moments of truth, and finally to recognize the difference between false happiness and true happiness. Overall, by reshaping an individuals mindset and motivations, and after the individual realizes the aesthetics in life bring about true happiness, then humanity as a whole may change course from chaos to order, from self-indulgence to a harmony. However, everything must start with the individual, specifically the individual must grasp free will.

Excerpts from
Reconciled In Iraq:

“As I sat in the very crux of this insane world, our world, I realized my own naivety and gullibility. Looking at a child whose face is torn apart by shrapnel from a VBIED (Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device) strikes deeply into the being, forever.”

“To the world, I barely existed as trivial matter. The great sea offered no reluctance, just indifference; everyone gets the same deal.”

“I looked in the mirror and saw my true spirit. Its vindictive eyes flashed into me with sorrowful radiance as my thick clad clothes fell off, revealing protruding bones and depraved flesh…‘Why had so many people lied to me? Why? Why do so many people hide the truth?’”

“There are different ways to escape through the perimeters and away from the inventor’s control, but most people deny the very existence of such perimeters.”

“I noticed something else too. Something we all hold deep inside of us, something great, something resembling a miracle.…”

Explanation of Parts:
Reconciled In Iraq
is arranged in five parts.

Part I: Discovery contains four chapters, each one preceded by an extended metaphor, and each chapter contains autobiographical material setting the stage for a new philosophy. The narrator is in Mosul, Iraq (ancient city of Nineveh), but through reflection and dreams, the reader moves with Brian Jopp into his strange and bizarre journeys.

Part II: Perimeters reveals a new philosophy and then provides real-life paranormal experiences to reinforce what the author believes to be our reality. Based upon experiences, observations, and paranormal activities, Brian Jopp diagrams and creates a way to understand the complexities of humanity.

Part III: Free Will and Destiny defines us as humans and reveals our true purpose. Answering age old questions of paradox and ambiguity, Brian Jopp uses simple logic, his new philosophy, and exemplifies the absolute importance of free will.

Part IV: Choosing a Better Life Using Free Will basically places emphasis on “choice.” To grasp free will and to bifurcate to a new life will mean the individual is on his/her natural path, where fate, destiny, God, and ultimately true bliss wait for every individual.

Part V: Live for Bliss, Live Free reveals Brian Jopp’s true bliss in a story about a one-man band. The last chapter depicts Brian Jopp, a soldier who has redeployed to his family, reunited and reconciled to a new life.
